Terms of sale

What a credit buys, what it costs, and what happens when a report fails or you stop using Donor Lens.

Last updated 18 September 2026

Who you are contracting with

Donor Lens is operated by Marko Bajic, an individual trading as Donor Lens, of Rockville, Maryland (“we”, “us”). Donor Lens is not a company: the person named here is the one you are contracting with. These terms cover the purchase and use of credits by the organisation whose workspace you act in (“you”).

Using Donor Lens also means accepting the Privacy Policy, which describes the personal data the service handles — both yours and that of the people you research.

What a credit is

A credit is a unit of prepaid research. One report costs a fixed number of credits by kind: a wealth screen 10, a deep screen 15, find funders 5, a re-screen or a funder profile 3, a bio update 2, a deceased check or a question answered from the file 1. A partial screen of one or two branches is priced per branch and never costs more than the whole.

The price of a report is shown before you start it and is held from your balance when the run is admitted. Adding prospects, importing lists, watching a file, source sweeps and alerts cost nothing.

Every workspace gets 30 credits a month at no charge. Packs are 100 credits for $29, 500 for $119 and 1,000 for $199. There is no seat licence, no minimum and no contract: buy a pack when you need one.

When a report does not arrive

A run that fails is refunded in full, automatically. A queued run cancelled before it starts costs nothing. A run interrupted by us — a deployment, a restart — is refunded and you are told.

A run that finishes is charged, including one that finishes with less than you hoped for. The research reads what the public record holds on the day it runs; “could not confirm” is a result, and it is the honest one.

A report cancelled after it has started keeps its charge: the work was done and the model was paid for it.

Refunds

Unused credits are refundable on request within 14 days of buying the pack, less any credits already spent. Write to us and the unused part goes back to the card that paid for it.

Credits do not expire while your workspace is open. If you close the workspace, any unused balance is forfeited — ask for the refund before you close it, not after, because closing destroys the workspace the balance belongs to.

If you believe a charge is wrong, write to us and we will look at the ledger with you. Every charge in Donor Lens links to the run that caused it.

Payment

Card payments are processed by Square. We never see or store your full card number; what we keep is the brand, the last four digits and the expiry, so the app can tell you when a saved card has expired.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are, which is added at the point of sale where we are required to collect it.

What you may and may not do with a report

Reports are for your organisation's fundraising use. They are confidential to the institution that commissioned them and are not for wider circulation.

Donor Lens is not a consumer reporting agency and its reports are not consumer reports. They may not be used to decide anyone's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Several of the sources they read carry the same restriction in their own terms.

You may not resell reports, or use the service to build a competing dataset for sale.

What we promise, and what we do not

Every figure in a report links to the source it came from, and we hold the research to public records only: no data brokers, no campaign-finance records, no federal officials' financial disclosures, and nothing about children.

An estimate is a reading of visible assets, not a valuation and not a statement of anyone's wealth. Check the sources before you act on a number. None of it is legal, tax or financial advice.

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that a report will be complete, that a public record is accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

Ending it

You can stop at any time. Settings → Account deletes your sign-in; Settings → Team deletes the workspace and everything in it. Deletion is real: the files, the reports, the alerts and the ledger go.

We may suspend a workspace that is being used against these terms — in particular one using reports for a purpose the Fair Credit Reporting Act covers — and will say why.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, and disputes belong to the state and federal courts sitting in Montgomery County, Maryland.

If we change these terms, the version in force is the one published here, and a material change is announced in the app before it takes effect.

Bring your next donor into focus.

Open to a small number of fundraising teams. We’ll write when your workspace is ready.
